The Men Have Families to Support
This cartoon shows a woman asking for a pay raise to support her family, but is being told that raises should go to men because "they have families to support." I think this represents the mindset of many people in the past that thought of the man as the breadwinner and the woman as the housewife and caretaker of the children.

Girls Can't What?
This collage of cartoons shows examples of careers women can do. Today, women in American society can grow up to have any job they please. They are no longer limited in their career choices. Women are active members of American society that contribute to their community and country. Women can do anything from truck driving to astronaut to crime scene investigator.
Conflicting Opinions on Motherhood and Working
This cartoon by artist Lindsay Foyle shows four women with different opinions. The woman at the upper right is arguing that working allows her to give her child a better life, whereas the woman across from her feels that her child has a better life because she doesn't work. The two women at the bottom of the collage have conflicting opinions on their life without children. I liked this cartoon because it represents different views that women have on motherhood and being working moms. Some mothers stay home and do not work, but that is not an option for all women due to economic conditions.
Busy Women
This comic shows a woman running around frantically, thinking of everything she has to do. It is often difficult to find a balance between family responsibilities and work responsibilities. With more opportunities for women, women grow busier and busier. Not only do they take on new jobs working, but they are also expected to maintain the household an care for children. Thankfully, this is increasingly changing and fathers are taking on increased parental roles that 50 years ago would have almost always been done by a woman.
Self Esteem Issues
Many women and younger girls in American society today struggle with self esteem and body image. Often, what we see in the media is women who are skinny and look perfect due to airbrushing. Seeing these images can sometimes cause an unhealthy body image and makes some women want to strive for something that is not healthy for them. There is pressure from society to have "the perfect look", "the perfect body", "the perfect life." Society is causing women of today to be less confident in themselves and their body.
